StaySync is an app designed to address housing challenges for FIFO workers in Western Australia. It streamlines accommodation by matching users' work schedules with available options near their job sites and facilitates shared living arrangements. Completed in the university course " social media technology" and awarded "New product Development, Top prototype (ECU Edith Cowan University Australia)"!
FIFO workers in Western Australia face several housing challenges due to the remote nature of their work locations. These challenges include limited availability of affordable housing, high rental prices, lack of suitable temporary accommodation options, and difficulties in maintaining work-life balance due to extended periods away from home.
Introducing StaySync: An innovative app streamlining housing for FIFO workers in Western Australia. The application allows users to input their work schedules and preferences, effortlessly matching them with available accommodation options near their work sites. Additionally, the app facilitates shared living arrangements by connecting users with compatible schedules, enabling them to share accommodations and take turns residing there.
The application also facilitates usage for people all over the world by coming in many different languages, ensuring efficient interaction and collaboration regardless of language barriers. Users can create personalized profiles detailing their preferences, work schedules, and accommodation requirements, allowing for precise matching with suitable housing options and potential housemates.
StaySync is also going to foster a sense of community among FIFO workers by offering social networking features within the app. Users can connect with others who share similar work schedules or interests, facilitating the formation of support networks and potential shared living arrangements.
With StaySync, finding suitable housing and optimizing work-life balance has never been easier for FIFO workers.
The project was executed by a dedicated team of three students from the Interaction and Design program aswell as a marketing team from Western Australia each contributing their unique expertise to ensure the success of our application development. The Interaction and Design team was structured with a clear division of roles: one member served as the team leader, guiding the overall project direction; another acted as the programming expert, focusing on the technical implementation and coding aspects; and I was responsible for the design and user experience.
As the Design Expert, my primary responsibility was to create the visual and interactive elements of the application. Utilizing Figma, I designed a user-friendly interface that not only met the functional requirements but also enhanced the overall user experience. This involved collaborating closely with the programming expert to ensure seamless integration of design elements and functionality. My contributions included creating wireframes, prototypes, and final design assets that guided the development process and contributed to a cohesive and engaging application.
