Sentax is a company specializing in measuring attachment and pressure zones for cross-country skis. In this project, we developed a more visually appealing design for their existing system. The goal was to create a more aesthetic and flexible interface that enhances user experience. This project was undertaken as part of the university course "Application Development for the Internet" in partnership with Sentax AB.
Sentax utilizes a meter that features a platform equipped with sensors to measure the span of skis for various body weights. These measurements are linked to a database, providing users with tailored information based on their weight and the type of ski they are using. The system is employed by retailers of cross-country skis as well as by teams of elite skiers in both cross-country skiing and biathlon.
The Sentax Ski Monitor is a tool that helps determine where on the ski adjustments should be made based on the selected ski and the skier's weight. It also assists in selecting the appropriate ski material, whether warm or cold, ensuring optimal performance.
Through communication with our client, we completed a finalized design, which includes an implemented demo linked to the ski information database.
The project was executed by a team of three students from the Interaction and Design program. We collaboratively divided the work equally, developing designs together and implementing them in React as a team.
After discussions with the client, we developed individual Lo-Fi prototypes focused on ease of use and user flow. We presented these to Sentax for feedback, then created a common wireframe incorporating the best ideas. Following further feedback, we developed Hi-Fi prototypes, experimenting with color and shape. We also created an interactive prototype to provide a complete user experience and updated their logo for visual unity. Finally, we presented the prototype to Sentax, incorporating their feedback into the final design.
